St. Olaf has been a pioneer and leader in international study for half a century. Today, more than two-thirds of Oles study abroad in one or more countries before they graduate. With more than 110 programs in 48 countries, there’s a wide range of opportunities to explore.
There’s more to global engagement than simply taking classes in another country. It means connecting to local communities and getting involved in the daily lives of others. It means immersing yourself in a culture other than your own. It changes the way you see the world and gives you a new perspective. You’ll return to St. Olaf a different person: more confident, more curious, more knowledgeable, and more experienced.
You’ll also find St. Olaf a dynamic place to live and learn, with a global orientation in campus life. With classmates and friends who come from more than 80 countries, you’ll study a foreign language and dive into global issues in courses across the curriculum. It’s all part of understanding other cultures and perspectives, and it’s fundamental to becoming an educated citizen in today’s world.
