General Information

Campus visits (including class visits) prior to Admitted Student Days

Many admitted students and their guests (usually one or two family members) elect to visit campus on the Friday before Admitted Student Days in order to attend classes (students only) and meet faculty, coaches, and conductors. We are eager to assist in crafting a schedule that meets your needs and will have a number of class visit options.

Overnight visits

Students are encouraged to stay overnight prior to Admitted Student Day programs, especially if you haven’t already had an overnight stay. You will be “camping out” in your host student’s room, so you should plan to bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, and personal items.  Overnight visit requests can be made on the April 11 or April 18 Admitted Student Registration page.

Student transportation between the airport and campus

When a student travels with a parent, we suggest making independent transportation arrangements to and from Northfield, which allows you maximum flexibility. Find accommodation information for your family here.

If the student is traveling alone, we can schedule complimentary transportation (one-way or round trip) between Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the St. Olaf campus.

Parent reception

Parents of admitted students will be invited to a special reception at The St. Paul Hotel on Friday evening  prior to the Admitted Student Day program. The event is held off campus. Parents will receive a separate invitation.

A block or rooms has been reserved at The St. Paul Hotel at a special St. Olaf rate for parents interested in staying overnight. This offer is available for the nights of April 10-11 and 17-18. To reserve a room, please call The St. Paul Hotel directly at (800) 292-9292 and ask for the St. Olaf College room block. These rooms will be held until March 22 for the first Admitted Student Day program and until March 29 for the second Admitted Student Day program.

Final notes

St. Olaf College is delighted to offer students and parents these special opportunities to visit campus. Contact the Admissions Office (800-800-3025) with questions.

We look forward to seeing you in April.
