Faculty who are interested in developing a new course that does not fit in the traditional boundaries of academic disciplines are encouraged to consider proposing a seminar in the Center for Integrative Studies. The CIS offers (and provides the FTE for) four integrative seminars each year. Besides integrating diverse disciplinary approaches, these seminars emphasize student participation and may experiment with forms of presentation and modes of learning.
Typically, CIS seminars are offered twice, in consecutive years, and are limited to twenty students, sophomore and above. There are three seminars offered in the 2012-13 academic year.
At this time (Fall 2012), and until further notice, no new proposals for seminars are being considered.
Initial expressions of interest should be sent to Dana Gross (Program Director, firstname.lastname@example.org.)
