Guests attending summer programs at St. Olaf College will stay in student residence halls.
The most frequently used residence hall is Ytterboe Hall which has a capacity of nearly 400. Guest rooms are arranged in suites of 6 rooms, 4 double rooms and 2 single rooms that surround a common living area. Each double room has 2 beds, 2 desks, 2 chairs and a sink. Each room is equipped with a telephone and internet connection. Bathrooms are shared on the common hallway. There is a nice large lounge on the first floor that is multi-functional.
Mellby and Larson Halls are good examples of our other housing options. Mellby Hall has an old world charm and is configured in a traditional student residence hall conformation with long hallways that are optimum for group interaction and supervision of youth groups. Larson Hall is a high rise building that offers 12 floors of housing with 20 beds per floor.
All summer housing includes the provision of a linen packet with 2 sheets,
pillowcase, towel, washcloth and pillow and blanket. Each hall will also have study rooms, recreation rooms, TV lounges, vending machines, laundry facilities, and kitchenettes for food storage (cooking is not permitted). Summer residential guests will also have access to the Skoglund/Tostrud Recreation Facility during regular hours and to all outdoor recreational facilities that are not scheduled. Outdoor facilities include basketball courts, tennis courts, frisbee golf course, sand volleyball court, and intramural fields.
