In an effort to help high school football players develop to their utmost potential, St. Olaf College offers this learning camp for offensive and defensive linemen. Unlike most summer camps, this is not a recruit showcase but an opportunity for players of all skill levels to work on fundamental techniques that are proven to translate into improved game-day performance. Campers will leave the ‘Own The Zone’ Football Camp better prepared to help their team achieve success in the fall.
This is a two-day (9 a.m.–3 p.m.) padded day camp open to any offensive or defensive lineman entering grades 9–12 in fall 2014.
$110 includes instruction, t-shirt, lunch
What to bring
Helmet, shoulder pads, mouth guard, cleats, practice jersey, and gym shoes (in case of rain). If you cannot get your pads and helmet from your high school, you can rent equipment from St. Olaf College for $20 each for the duration of camp.

Meet the staff
Craig Stern was named head coach at St. Olaf in 2013, and the 2014 season will be his 10th with the Oles. He joined the staff as the recruiting coordinator and defensive back coach and was promoted to assistant head coach in 2010. Stern came to St. Olaf after a five-year stint at Concordia-St. Paul, where he was the defensive coordinator. The Golden Bears’ defense was ranked fourth nationally when they captured a NSIC title in 2003. Stern was the assistant offensive coordinator at Dana College from 1997–99, and was an assistant coach at Kimball High School in 1996.
Justin Lerfald was the St. Olaf Defensive Line Coach for seven years, where he mentored numerous All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American players for the Oles. During Lerf’s tenure the Oles averaged more than 25 sacks per season. He teaches discipline and proven technique.
Eric Yuen ’08 returns for his second season on the Hill as the Oles offensive line coach. Yuen brings incredible experience after spending the last seven years working with both offensive and defensive lines, and he mentored several All-Region and All-American linemen at Springfield College. As a student, Yuen was an All-American, All-Region and All-Conference offensive lineman for the Oles.
