Excellence has become a trademark of the St. Olaf Swim Camps in the more than 30 years that Bob and Dave Hauck have been directing them. Our coaches provide a team-oriented learning environment that is exciting, fun, and challenging:

  • Professional, individualized coaching
  • Low athlete-to-coach ratio
  • Team-building principles
  • Three daily pool sessions
  • Underwater recording with one-on-one review
  • Written analysis of strokes, starts, and turns
  • Dry-land training
  • Small group discussions
  • Final swim meet
  • Supervised recreational activities
  • Digital video recording for each swimmer
  • More details here

The camps including Stroke Technique and High-Performance  are designed for swimmers who have been swimming competitively in associations or school programs and have yet to complete their senior year. Both camps provide a complete experience on the beautiful St. Olaf campus in historic Northfield, Minnesota. Pool time and other training activities are balanced with recreational activities supervised by camp coaches and counselors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Stroke Technique swim camp and the High-Performance swim camp?

Both camps concentrate on the fundamentals: strokes, starts, and turns. High-Performance campers will work on weight training and delve more into the strategies of competition, psychology, and team building.

What if my child is on medication?

Although a camp counselor can hold the medication in a locked room, counselors cannot administer the medication to the camper.
All campers must be able to administer their own medications.

Which camp is best for my child?

Median age for Stroke Technique Swim Camp is 12. If your swimmer is 14+ you should consider High-Perfrimance Swim Camp.

How many swimmers are in each session?

Stroke camp will have up to 42 swimmers and High-Performance will have up to 30.

What is the refund policy?

See the refund policy on the registration page.

My child is one year too young for camp. Can she still register?

We maintain a wait list and if there are still openings prior to the start of camp we will fill positions with younger students. Contact the camp office to get your name on the list (507-786-3042).

Is there a non-online option for using a credit card?

No. In order to meet regulations we can only take credit cards using our online form.
