St. Olaf Swim Camps
High Performance and Stroke Technique
Bob Hauck ’87, has co-coached St. Olaf’s men’s and women’s swim teams for the past 24 years. Bob was a 23-time All-American; he won seven national titles, set three national records, and was a world-ranked backstroker. Hauk has led St. Olaf teams to 20 conference championships, and in 2009 he and his father Dave Hauck were both named the NCAA Division III Men’s Swimming Coach of the Year.
Nathan Linscheid ’94, has spent the last 17 summers coaching at the St. Olaf Swim Camp. He swam for St. Olaf and the Haucks during his college career. Nate coached high school swimming for the past 20 seasons. Currently he coaches the Bloomington Jefferson boys team (13 years) and the Convent of the Visitation High School (19 years). In the past eight years his team had eight top 10 state tournament finishes, including 4 straight state championships. Nate was named Class A State Girls Coach of the Year twice in his career.
Maya Hamilton is in her seventh summer of St. Olaf swim camps and will enter her sixth season of coaching Ole men and women. She also has five years of coaching at the high school and college levels prior to coming to St. Olaf. Maya swam middle-distance and distance freestyle and backstroke for Yale University, and currently participates in triathlons, swimming, road cycling, CrossFit, yoga, and a variety of martial arts. She received her master’s degree in 2011 from the University of Minnesota and will complete her Ph.D. in 2013 in Sport and Exercise Psychology.
