Campus Visit by filmmaker Jason Glaser and screening of his new documentary film

Banana Land

Jason is the co-founder of La Isla, a foundation in Nicaragua dedicated to finding the causes a fatal kidney disease among young Nicaraguan cane cutters.  He has also just finished a new film called “Banana Land” that  looks at struggle of Latin American banana workers to protect themselves from pesticide poisoning.

  • Tuesday, Sept. 24:  Showing of Banana Land at 7:00 in Viking.  Followed by Q & A with Jason Glaser.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 25  Lecture by Jason titled “Dying for Sugar:  Early Mortality and Kidney Disease among Nicaragua Cane Cutters, 4:00 in Viking.
