At St. Olaf and in the Financial Aid Office, we understand that value and affordability are integral to the college decision process. Through our merit scholarships and commitment to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students, we work to make a St. Olaf education attainable for every qualified student. However, we also recognize that financial aid can be frightening and confusing. So over the next six weeks, and longer if you choose to enroll at St. Olaf, we will be sharing information about financial aid. We will cover:
- When to expect your award letter
- Where to go with questions
- Student employment and student loans
- Comparing award offers
- Managing unmet costs
When to Expect your Award Letter
If you have completed both the CSS PROFILE and FAFSA by March 1st, we will mail your financial aid award letter by Tuesday, March 22. Students who have submitted both forms after this date will receive their financial aid award as soon as we are able to review and process the information.
Even though our priority deadline has passed, we are still accepting and reviewing financial aid applications. If you have not done so, I encourage you to complete the CSS PROFILEand/or FAFSA as soon as possible. If you have not yet completed your 2015 taxes, please use estimated information to complete the CSS PROFILE and/or the FAFSA. We can correct any small issues through our verification process.
If you have any questions about completing the CSS PROFILE and/or the FAFSA, the financial aid team would be glad to answer an email, schedule a phone call, or meet with you if you are on campus. We are excited that you have been admitted to St. Olaf College, and we are committed to providing you the resources to take advantage of the unique experience and lasting value that a St. Olaf education provides.
