For many students attending St. Olaf, living on campus is a big part of enjoying the college experience. The social activities, the proximity to fellow students, and the general campus hustle and bustle can provide numerous opportunities for fun and comfortable living. However, if you sometimes find yourself wondering if you would prefer living off-campus and experiencing more independence, you are not alone! Many students annually elect to live in off-campus housing, both in honor houses and individually arranged rental units. It can be a wonderful experience, allowing you an increased sense of self-sufficiency and an opportunity to direct your own lifestyle. It can also be a very difficult experience, involving many responsibilities and burdens students may or may not take into account.
