Chris Yang

chrisFor this month’s graduate spotlight, I was able to interview 2010 Humboldt Graduate Chris Yang. I am happy to report that Chris is attending college and is enjoying adulthood! Here is a quick update from Mr. Yang:

1) What school are you attending? Augsburg College

2) What classes are you taking this semester?
I am taking Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Calculus, and Psychology (Not an easy schedule)

3) Are you involved in any extra-curricular activities on campus?
I am involved in football, Asian Club, TRiO – Student Support Services (SSS) and work.

4) Are you enjoying college?
Yes, I am enjoying college. It’s like the first step into living by yourself. I love the independence and learning how to manage my time, finances, etc. There are also many people to make friends with.

5) Is college what you thought it was going to be?
I did not know what college would be like, but UB definitely prepared me for it! It’s very different from high school and it’s more than just going to class and doing homework.

6) What is a typical day for you?
My typical day is to wake up at 7AM, go to class from 8AM-10AM, have a break for 2 hours, and then class from 12PM-2PM. After classes I have football practice at 3PM to 6PM. After practice is my time to rest, do homework, or hangout. Then, I go to work at 9PM-12AM in the library. Busy busy busy day! But, this was during football season. Now, my schedule is the same, but without the football practice, which opens my schedule to other things.

7) Any advice for UB students?
My advice for UB students is to apply for SCHOLARSHIPS!!!!!!! [See pages six and seven for more information!] It will help greatly! And once in college, stay focused! Have a goal, do not slack, work hard, and have fun. One more thing…. Like I said, college is nothing like high school. So study study study, unless you have a photographic memory of your textbook. =)
