Please check the <a title=\"St. Olaf Academic Catalog\" href=\"https:\/\/www.stolaf.edu\/catalog\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Academic Catalog<\/a>\u00a0for complete course descriptions and prerequisites.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Environmental Studies<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>ES 281\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Water: The Global Crisis\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instructor: Nikki Strong<\/p>\n<p>Students educated the general public and the campus community on how individuals can make a difference when it comes to water waste and water pollution by setting up demonstrations and handing out informative brochures at the Just Food Co-op and Buntrack Commons on such topics as everyday water conservation awareness, the bottled water controversy, rain water collection, and constructing your own rain garden.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"heading3\"><strong>Religion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>REL 224\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Christianity and Social Power<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Instructor: Peder Jothen<\/p>\n<p>Students contributed eight to ten hours each to one of four civic engagement options: a Colombia advocacy project with Lutheran World Relief, service at the Community Action Center (CAC) food shelf, service at Thursday\u2019s Table and a homeless immersion experience in Minneapolis.
