The interdisciplinary seminar,\u00a0<span class=\"sc_courseinline\"><a class=\"bubblelink code\" title=\"AFAD\u00a0231\" href=\"https:\/\/catalog.stolaf.edu\/search\/?P=AFAD%20231\">AFAD\u00a0231<\/a>\u00a0Africa and the Americas: The Diaspora Experience<\/span>\u00a0is required of all students electing this concentration, and students are strongly advised to enroll in this course during their first or sophomore year. One independent study may be counted toward the concentration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"body\">Students are also encouraged to include off-campus study, either domestic or overseas, in their programs.
