Big Discovery Project

Tell us your story

This summer a group of select St. Olaf students will begin meeting with a wide range of alumni throughout the Twin Cities area to hear about experiences at St. Olaf and the lives that graduates have made in the years since they left the Hill. We see this project as a perfect fit for engaging alumni and students in dialogue, teaching students interview skills, strengthening ties within the Ole community, and assisting with the planning of future alumni programming.

The one-hour interviews will focus on your life since graduation, memories of the Hill, and impressions of today’s St. Olaf. Our trained Big Discovery ambassadors also will ask you about what alumni programming or volunteer opportunities most appeal to you. The interviews will not be filmed or recorded, but the interviewer may take minimal notes in the course of your conversation. And our students will not ask you for money.

Don’t worry — we can take it

Our interviewers are aware that St. Olaf alumni have all had different experiences — some positive, some negative. We encourage you not to exclude yourself if you have things to say that you think the college might not want to hear. It’s our hope that a variety of viewpoints will help strengthen the programs, services, and communications we offer to alumni in the Twin Cities.
