Class of 1962 – 55th Reunion

Dear Class of ’62 Classmates,

As amazing as it may seem, the 55th anniversary of our graduation from St. Olaf is at hand. Returning to St. Olaf means connecting with friends, discovering classmates we did not know well, exploring continued changes to the college in its glorious setting, and much more. Please join us as we participate in our special class programs and events, music, worship, mingling, and lots of conversation.

Amidst it all is life in the dorm, a recommended part of our shared experience. The rates are reasonable and parking is free. Our assigned dorm, Ytterboe Hall, means a focal place for getting together around the clock. Of course, another option is a downtown motel or other arrangement.

The program committee has begun planning and is open to suggestions and offerings to participate. A selected listing of events follows on the back side. Some are open to all the classes. The events specifically for the class of ’62 are highlighted.

The dinner on Friday evening provides the first opportunity to reconnect with all our classmates. On Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon, there will be an opportunity to share ideas and experiences. You are invited to submit a proposal for a brief presentation to your classmates, on the model of a TED talk. The talk should be no longer than 10 minutes. Please contact Roger Sween to volunteer or for more information.

The Saturday evening dinner will include additional camaraderie, music, and a speaker from our class. Following, we will remember our departed classmates.

Our 50th Reunion had a record attendance of 54% in 2012. It would be heartwarming to see a similar or even better attendance this year. Whether you attend or not, we can benefit from updates from you posted online on our 1962 Class Page, which can be accessed through the St. Olaf Alumni Directory.

We look forward to seeing all of you in June!
