The St. Olaf College Archives welcomes donations from current and former students, alumni, and friends of the College.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested in donating materials to the archives, please review the brief lists below to get an idea of what we do and do not accept, then contact us at <a href=\"mailto:librarycollectiondonor@stolaf.edu?subject=Archives Donation Inquiry\">librarycollectiondonor@stolaf.edu<\/a>. Please <strong>do not leave items at the Archives Offices <\/strong>unless you have corresponded with a member of our staff, and they have arranged to receive the items from you. It&#8217;s important that we document information about our donors, the materials they are offering, and the history of the object \u2014 this information makes your gift more accessible to researchers, and provides meaningful context to the collections. Be prepared to spend a few minutes with our staff, and to fill out a Deed of Gift form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Items we typically accept:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Artifacts (objects and textiles) related to the institution, or to your time here<\/li>\n<li>Special format materials documenting the history of St. Olaf College, including, but not limited to:\n<ul>\n<li>Audio and audiovisual materials<\/li>\n<li>Photographs, slides, negatives<\/li>\n<li>Oral histories and their transcripts<\/li>\n<li>Maps<\/li>\n<li>Blueprints and architectural drawings<\/li>\n<li>Personal items such as scrapbooks, notebooks, photo albums, diaries, notebooks, and letters<\/li>\n<li>Tickets, fliers, and other ephemera<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Items we <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><em>do not<\/em><\/span> acquire:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yearbooks (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/digital.stolaf.edu\/archives\/search\/s\/1f4867ef-f00e-462a-86b2-cd46b1d1a2ac?resultsView=grid\">complete digital collection<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>College catalogs (see our <a href=\"https:\/\/stolaf.eastview.com\/browse\/books\/3270#\/\">digital collection<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Back issues of the <em>Manitou Messenger\u00a0<\/em>(see the <a href=\"https:\/\/stolaf.eastview.com\/browse\/udb\/2370\">digital collection<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Items we already have two copies of<\/li>\n<li>Publications better suited to the Rolvaag Library Collection, Rolvaag Special Collections, or the <a href=\"https:\/\/norwegianamericanhistory.org\/\">Norwegian-American Historical Association<\/a> (NAHA)<\/li>\n<li>Artwork better suited to a museum collection<\/li>\n<li>Most clothing<\/li>\n<li>Items in poor condition<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><strong>For questions pertaining to the donation process:<br class=\"none\" \/><\/strong>Student Associate for Collection &amp; Donor Support<br class=\"none\" \/>x 507-786-2190 | <a href=\"mailto:librarycollectiondonor@stolaf.edu?subject=Archives Donation Inquiry\">librarycollectiondonor@stolaf.edu<\/a><\/p>\n<p><!-- begin-migrated-from-panel-builder --><!-- end-migrated-from-panel-builder --><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Your experiences and memories are an important part of the history of our community!
