{"id":6644,"date":"2018-01-12T13:43:36","date_gmt":"2018-01-12T19:43:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/art\/?page_id=6644"},"modified":"2026-09-09T09:41:57","modified_gmt":"2026-09-09T14:41:57","slug":"how-to-apply","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/art\/how-to-apply\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Apply"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply for an Art Scholarship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please read the following instructions before beginning the online application.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you begin the online art application,&nbsp;<strong>please use the same email address which you used\/will use for the Common Application.&nbsp;<\/strong>This email address will link the two applications.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You may save\/exit as many times as you wish before submitting your scholarship application, but once you click \u2018submit\u2019 you may not make any changes to the application.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please do not create an application for viewing only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Art Scholarship Application consists of the following:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1.&nbsp; Your written response to these questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What are the names of art courses taken at high school, colleges or universities, community art centers, museums, or from private instructors?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why are you interested in the studio art and\/or art history program at St. Olaf College?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What would you consider as your areas of strength in art and\/or art history?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have you had a significant mentor in art? If so, briefly describe that experience.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List any art exhibitions you have been a part of, and please indicate if they were competitions you entered.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>List honors and awards you have received.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is there a significant art event or exhibition that you have attended that made a lasting impression on you?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To what other schools do you intend to apply?
