See below sections for more information.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un-staffed comment boxes or bulletin boards encouraging anonymous suggestions are not permitted.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Posters should not include images or statements that are obscene, profane, threatening, libelous, unlawfully harassing or discriminatory, or otherwise a violation of law or college policy.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All members of the St. Olaf community are expected to respect posters\/displays and the individuals and organizations that put them up. Tearing down, defacing, or covering up approved postings goes against campus policy and impacts our community in negative ways.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Posting Quantities and Locations:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Organizations\/departments are permitted to hang three print posters in Buntrock Commons across the public posting boards. Under the \u201cPolicy for Postings\u201d, residence halls and academic buildings may have one poster per event\/organization in each building. Four are located in Crossroads and six in Stav Hall.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banner space may only be reserved through 25Live as a way to advertise events and initiatives open to the entire campus community. Reservations must be placed at least two weeks in advance. Banners will be hung by the Buntrock Office staff from the railings with materials provided by the Commons.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banners must follow the following guidelines:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The requesting organization\/department is responsible for making the banner. Wide-format printing is available through the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/printcenter\/order-forms\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Print Center<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Buntrock Commons has reusable vinyl banners that can be decorated by student organizations if they do not wish to print a banner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banners hanging in Crossroads can be no larger than 5 feet x 4 feet. Banners hanging in Stav may vary in width, but cannot be more than 5 feet in height. If printing a banner, please ensure that grommets are included.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banner space can be reserved for a maximum of one week (seven consecutive days Monday-Sunday) per event in only one location at a time. Banners will not be moved during the week.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banners must be dropped off at the Buntrock Scheduling Office (BC007) and will be hung on Monday mornings.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Banners will be taken down and returned to the Buntrock Scheduling Office after the reservation has ended. Banners left for over a week will be discarded. The hallways are designated <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">North<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">South<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (south is closest to the Quad, looking out to the center of the campus). Organizations can request one side of either hallway for two non-consecutive weeks each semester. Only one side of either hallway can be reserved for a specific event, initiative, or cause for one week at a time, regardless of the number of sponsoring organizations. All hallway displays must be removed within 24 hours of the close of the reservation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hallway displays must include elements that clearly identify the name of the sponsoring organization with a contact person and active email address or alias. Additional requirements are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only blue tape may be used to adhere anything to walls or windows (student organizations may obtain supplies from the Office of Student Activities).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any items hung across the windows using string must be at least seven feet above the ground.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Only one side of the hallway may be used for a display. Roll paper signs cannot be hung in other campus buildings as a poster, but can be used for tabling. Registered student organizations can utilize the Poster Room in the Office of Student Activities to create roll paper signs. Non-student organizations including academic departments, offices, music organizations, and athletic teams are not able to use Poster Room resources. Any postings advocating a particular issue or candidate must also identify the sponsoring group(s).
