Scroll through the list, and click on the type of absence you want to select.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2188\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image10.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"930\" height=\"397\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For all absences, you must enter a Start Date and an End Date.<\/p>\n<p>The system has a built-in work schedule and will try to match the dates you\u2019ve selected with the hours you would typically work. To edit these hours, type the actual hours into the \u201cHours\u201d field.<\/p>\n<p><em>Note: If you have more than one assignment (job), you can have the absence tied to only ONE of your assignments.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2182\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"936\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After entering your hours, select \u201cCalculate\u201d to view your new projected balance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2205\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image27.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"936\" height=\"417\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you click \u201cCalculate\u201d without editing your hours, the system will still give you a projected balance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2222\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image44.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"939\" height=\"304\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If you have entered a date range for your absence, you can move the slider to show individual dates to customize your absence hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2220\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image42.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"928\" height=\"445\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Use the \u201cpencil\u201d icon to edit individual days of your absence.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2212\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image34.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"940\" height=\"357\" \/><\/p>\n<p>When you request absences in advance, the system will factor in the accruals that will occur between the date that you\u2019re logging the absence and the date of the actual absence.<\/p>\n<p>After you\u2019ve entered your absence request, click \u201cSubmit\u201d at the top right hand corner of your screen. Your absence request will go to your supervisor for approval.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to save your absence request but not submit it to your supervisor just yet, click \u201cSave and Close.\u201d If you do not submit your request, the absence will not be applied to your paycheck.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2203\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image25.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"816\" height=\"311\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>Absence Requests &#8211; Summer Hours<\/h4>\n<p>Follow instructions under <a href=\"#absence-request\">Absence Requests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2191\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image13.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"972\" height=\"384\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To adjust the standard 8 hours to 8.5 hours select Show Individual Dates and Click the Edit Pencil:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2208\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/business-office\/files\/2026\/04\/image30.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"982\" height=\"390\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Change the 8 hours to 8.50 Hours and click Save.
