Finance 101: Career Exploration for Finance and Banking

What is finance? What are the different types of jobs in finance? How do I decide where I might fit?
These questions and more will be answered at Finance 101, a program designed to connect students early to the possibilities for careers in finance. Presented by alumni currently working in the field, the program will introduce the world of finance broadly and then break down each functional area to help you decide where you might fit.

Location: Sun Ballroom, Buntrock Commons

Students will be expected to stay for the entire program.
Registration Deadline: Thursday, April 25, 2019
Stephanie Wissink ’02, Managing Director at Jefferies Financial Group, will open the event with a keynote presentation, followed by young alumni briefly sharing their experiences in their area of finance. Alumni will be present to discuss the following areas: corporate finance, public finance, fixed income trading, equity research, private banking, asset management, corporate development, investment banking, and alternative asset management. Following the formal program, there will be time for individual networking with alumni.
This is an important and highly recommended opportunity for all students who are considering a career in finance. First-years and sophomore students are especially encouraged to attend.
