Guest Speaker Prof. Yalda Hamidi

The Departments of Sociology and Anthropology, Middle East Studies, Religion and The Smith Center are excited to present Prof. Yalda Hamidi from the Minnesota State University Mankato to visit St. Olaf. She will be lecturing tomorrow night at 5:00PM on the situation in Iran.

Dr. Yalda Hamidi is Assistant Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at Minnesota State University Mankato. Yalda’s research investigates the politics of location and social construction of home and belonging, provides a more comprehensive picture of transnational feminism for diasporic communities, and explores intersectional identities and feminisms in Iranian women’s writing in the diaspora and inside Iran. Yalda identifies as a feminist pedagogue, mentor, and storyteller.
