Hmong Story Cloths Workshop

May 10, 2022 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

Hmong story cloths have been sewn for generations in Laos. These embroidered clothes are called paj ntaub or, literally, flower clothes. They tell stories of the community. Symbols and colors reflect the lives and times of the Hmong community. Yee Yang has been a workshop educator about Hmong story clothes in the Twin Cities for several years. This workshop will provide you with the history of these story clothes and there will be supplies for you to make yourself a very simple child friendly piece. This activity is mostly provided for small kids so all ages and skill levels are able to create their own small art piece.

May 10 at 4:30pm in Holland Hall 111.  Space is limited.  Sign up using this form.
