Minnesota Private Colleges’ Job and Internship Fair

Minnesota Private Colleges’ Job and Internship Fair is designed to bring over 300 employers and students together in a way that allows students the opportunity to explore many different work and internship opportunities, and employers a cost-effective means of meeting highly talented students from Minnesota’s private colleges. The fair is sponsored by 17 private colleges in the state. The fair is only open to current sophomores, juniors and seniors. Limited exceptions may be available, please contact the Piper Center.
The fair includes recruiter representatives from over 250 organizations from business/industry and from the nonprofit sector. (Certified teachers have their own fair mid Spring Semester.) The individual organizations each have a booth in the Convention Center on day one of the fair, and students can choose with whom they’d like to make contact.

MANDATORY PREP SESSION:
Attend ONE of the following sessions. You will not be permitted to participate in the fair if you do not attend the prep session.

Optional 30-minute break-out sessions will occur after the prep sessions for the following:

Advanced registration via Handshake is required. Registration deadline is Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019.
$15 fee required. The preferred method of payment is credit or debit card directly in Handshake. If this is not possible, you may visit the Piper Center in person (Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) to register and pay by cash, check or Ole Card.
Once registered, all communication with you about the fair will be through Handshake e-mail. Check your messages regularly, and watch for important information.

Bus transportation is provided at no additional charge. Buses will depart promptly at 7:30am on Feb. 21 from Buntrock Commons turnaround and drop off at the Minneapolis Convention Center. A return bus to campus will depart the convention center at 1:00, 1:30 2:30, and 6:15 p.m. (Space on a first-come, first-serve basis.) A roster will not be kept so if you miss the bus you will need to find alternative transportation back to campus on your own.
IS THE FAIR RIGHT FOR ME?
Stop by the Piper Center Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 and 5 to meet with Peer Advisor who can help you discover if the fair is right for you. Questions can also be directed to Bryan Shealer in the Piper Center.
It is the student’s responsibility to notify professors as early as possible about an expected absence from a class for the fair. It is at instructors’ individual discretion to determine how such absences will be handled.
