MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media and 2021 Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) Online Information Sessions – Wednesday, October 7, 2020 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Minnesota time
The NYU Center for Publishing offers two pathways to careers in publishing and media, the MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media and the NYU Summer Publishing Institute. Students are invited to attend the information sessions, and to consider beginning their publishing studies during the 2021 Summer Publishing Institute. If they are accepted and successfully complete
SPI, they can enter the graduate program in the fall with six graduate credits. (Full details and the application process will be discussed in the information sessions.) MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media — Join us to learn more about the MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media, our two-year degree program which provides students with a practical foundation in book publishing and digital/magazine media. Students may apply for the spring or fall 2021 semesters. Through a combination of classroom learning taught by esteemed industry professionals, and hands-on computer laboratory study of key digital formats and social media, the MS in Publishing helps students to master the skills required for success in today’s publishing workplace. Classes are held in the evening to support students working in the industry or gaining internship experience. Global opportunities to volunteer at conferences and book fairs in London, Frankfurt, and Bologna (once global travel is advisable); virtual and in-person industry visits; and networking events ensure that students have access to every aspect of the world of publishing.
FLEXIBILITY FOR SPRING 2021
Study in New York City OR if you are unable to attend on-site in NYC for spring, you can start this degree remotely and join us on campus in Fall 2021. NOTE: Certain restrictions and requirements may apply for international students.
Summer Publishing Institute (SPI) — Join us to learn more about the Summer Publishing Institute (SPI), our renowned, six-week summer program (June 7 – June 16, 2021), developed specifically for recent college graduates and rising college seniors who are interested in careers in the book publishing and digital/magazine media industries. SPI attracts more than 200 leading industry executives who serve as faculty members and guest speakers. Students attend lectures and workshops that explore key publishing issues; visit some of the top book, magazine, and digital publishing headquarters; and participate in a career fair and other job-related activities. SPI awards six graduate credits to those who successfully complete the program. These credits may be applied to the MS in Publishing: Digital and Print Media or to an advanced degree at another institution of higher education where the credits are deemed acceptable. Students may choose to apply to and attend both programs and enter the Master’s program in the fall with six graduate credits.
Once you RSVP for an information session, you will receive a confirmation email and a link that can be used to participate in the online information session.
