PAC Lecture: Queer Xicano Chisme

The St. Olaf College Political Awareness Committee (PAC) will host a lecture by Ruben Gil (also known as Queer Xicano Chisme) on November 13 at 5 p.m in Tomson 280.

Queer Xicano Chisme will present his workshop/lecture “Tending to Intangible Wounds: On Community, Healing, and Care”.

Queer Xicano Chisme is a multi-talented social media influencer, socio-cultural critic , and writer who focuses on the lived experience and embodied knowledge of ONE Queer Xicano in discussions of social justice, sex, pop culture, comedy, politics, culture, Queer Xicanismo, and chisme, which is defined by Ruben as “gossip, oral history, shade, news, and ancestral knowledge as practiced by many Chicanx/Latinx folks.”

There will be a reception following the event.
