If you wake up every morning and drink 1…or 2…or 3…or more cups of caffeinated drinks this presentation is for you! We will be discussing how caffeine impacts your body chemically, physically, and emotionally. We will also look into the appropriate amounts of caffeine recommended, caffeine consumption on campus, and common misconceptions about caffeine. Lastly, we will look into the importance of sleep and how caffeine can disrupt this natural cycle.
Learning Objectives:
1. Inform students about what types of drinks contain caffeine and their amounts.
2. Give students a better idea about the amount they should be drinking per day if they chose to drink caffeine.
3. Inform students about how caffeine affects their bodies – chemically, physically, and emotionally, getting specifically into how it affects sleep!
4. Chat about ‘college caffeine culture’ and why it is relevant to Oles + how we can normalize prioritizing sleep and self-care.
