The POC Ole Theater Ensemble Initiative seeks to utilize theatre pedagogies that will help foster Black and Brown ethnic communities at St. Olaf College. We seek to use theatre pedagogies situated in acting theory and acting as a practice to explore, reflect, and share various Black and Brown ethnic identities and cultural practices. Several activities include staged readings of various Black and Brown ethnically diverse playwrights and/or communities of color; faculty-led workshops that engage in using theatre pedagogies that explore, reflect, and share Black and Brown ethnic identities across campus; and guest speakers whose work reflect how theatre pedagogies can be used to support Black and Brown ethnic communities at St. Olaf College.
