Viking Chorus & Manitou Singers Spring Concert
April 13 @ 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm
The Viking Chorus, conducted by Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, and the Manitou Singers, conducted by Therees Hibbard, present a joint spring concert.
The Viking Chorus is a group of more than 80 first-year student men who have been organized to sing the highest quality literature. They perform a program of music that includes motets, cantata movements, and anthems, as well as contemporary choral pieces, sprituals, folksongs, and music traditionally associated with men’s singing groups.
The Manitou Singers, comprised of 100 select women’s voices from the first-year class, performs at the opening worship service of the college as well as at various campus functions throughout the year, including the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. With a repertoire that ranges from sacred to secular to popular ballads, the Manitou Singers have a broad appeal both on and off campus.
