VIRTUAL CAREER CHAT — Internships and the STEM Job Search

April 28 @ 3:30 pm - 4:00 pm

Please join us for a virtual conversation in our Career Chat series entitled “Internships and the STEM Job Search”. Virtual career chats are a casual, low-stakes way to learn relevant career-related information from the experiences of St. Olaf alumni, friends of the college, faculty, staff, and employers in a variety of fields.
All majors and academic year levels are welcome!
We will speak with a recent alumnus (who has been through the internship and job search process), with a representative from the SciTech Internship Program, and with a recruiter from Pace Analytical Labs (which hires many STEM students). Participants can get insights on getting internships, the value that internships can add to their careers, and applicant factors that employers consider during the STEM job search.
Confirmed Speakers:
–Elijah Verdoorn ’18: St. Olaf alum, current full-time software engineer at WeWork; past software engineer at Pandora; and past internships at Pandora and Protolabs
–Molly Mitchell, current Student Outreach Coordinator, SciTech Internship Program
–Misty Granholm, current Senior Scientific Recruiter, Pace Analytical Labs
