SUMMARY:Guest Masterclass: Zach Miller\, drumset
DESCRIPTION:Zach Miller is an educator\, composer\, and performer living in Minneapolis\, MN. Curiosity and exploration have defined the arc of his career\, exemplified in his recently released book SYNCO; a collection of advanced practice concepts for drumset. Zach has toured for 20 years with several national recording artists including Eric Hutchinson\, Sarah Groves and Jason Gray while maintaining an adjunct professor position at North Central University in downtown Minneapolis. Zach’s teaching offerings expand beyond the classroom. He has written articles for PAS’s Percussive Notes\, been a featured clinician at universities around the country\, developed a collection of social media challenges on handle\, @zmillermusic. Much of this content revolves around his area of expertise\, orchestrations of polymetric rhythmic relationships. As much as Zach wants to challenge musicians to expand their horizons of independence and rhythmic comprehension\, he wants everyone to always remember that THE WORK IS FUN! \nThis event is free and open to the public.
