{"id":2044,"date":"2015-08-11T11:55:27","date_gmt":"2015-08-11T16:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/chemical-hygiene\/?page_id=2044"},"modified":"2023-06-07T08:12:19","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T13:12:19","slug":"rns-295","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/chemical-hygiene\/stockrooms\/rns-295\/","title":{"rendered":"RNS 295 &#8211; Physics Workroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection><span class=\"collapseomatic arrowleft\" id=\"id69e4cce7ac411\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;Features &amp; Functions&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>Features &amp; Functions<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69e4cce7ac411\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li>Supply Room for the Physics Department.<\/li>\n<li>A\u00a0bench area for general repair or fabrication of mechanical\/electrical apparatus or equipment.<\/li>\n<li>There are two workstations equipped with hand tools and soldering irons. \u00a0Instruction of soldering techniques is available.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Serves as the primary work space for the Physics\u00a0Technician, who supports\u00a0the Physics\u00a0teaching &amp; research labs as well as providing frequent technical guidance and support for other FNSM personnel.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><br class=\"none\" \/><br class=\"none\" \/><span class=\"collapseomatic arrowleft\" id=\"id69e4cce7ac506\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;Workroom Access&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>Workroom Access<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69e4cce7ac506\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Access to RNS 295\u00a0is limited to Authorized Individuals.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Enter via\u00a0the south hall door, as the north door is usually locked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<br class=\"none\" \/><br class=\"none\" \/><span class=\"collapseomatic arrowleft\" id=\"id69e4cce7ac559\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;Hints to Find the Workroom Technician&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>Hints to Find the Workroom Technician<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69e4cce7ac559\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If the office door (295A) is closed, <\/strong>I am out of the building.<\/li>\n<li><strong>If the office door is open, <\/strong>then I am some where in the building.\n<ul>\n<li><strong>If the office door is almost closed, <\/strong>then look in either the Metal or Wood Shop, first floor, west end of the building, Loading Dock area.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><br class=\"none\" \/><br class=\"none\" \/><span class=\"collapseomatic arrowleft\" id=\"id69e4cce7ac5a0\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;Using the Workroom&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>Using the Workroom<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69e4cce7ac5a0\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li>Follow all safety rules, including proper dress code and PPE.<\/li>\n<li>The workroom is open to all who have received proper instruction and\u00a0feel competent in performing their required task. \u00a0If you don\u2019t feel up to the task or are unsure, asking for assistance is always welcome. Generally, asking for this assistance will expedite the situation.<\/li>\n<li>Materials located on the first two (south) shelving units are dedicated to Physics lab experiments. \u00a0Please do not remove anything.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tools located in the Workroom stay in the Workroom. \u00a0Do not remove them.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Clean up when you are finished. \u00a0<\/strong>It is expected that house keeping of the work area used will be performed at the end of the work task.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><br class=\"none\" \/><br class=\"none\" \/><span class=\"collapseomatic arrowleft\" id=\"id69e4cce7ac5dd\"  tabindex=\"0\" title=\"&lt;strong&gt;Checking Out Supplies\/Equipment&lt;\/strong&gt;\"    ><strong>Checking Out Supplies\/Equipment<\/strong><\/span><div id=\"target-id69e4cce7ac5dd\" class=\"collapseomatic_content \">\n<ul>\n<li>There is a limited quantity of hand tools and electrical equipment available for check out.
