In Section 2 of an SDS you\u00a0will find the following information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>GHS Classification(s)\n<ul>\n<li>Example: Flammable Liquid (Category 2)<\/li>\n<li>Example: Skin Corrosion (Category 1A)<\/li>\n<li>Example: Serious Eye Damage (Category 1)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Target Organs (if any)<\/li>\n<li>GHS Label Elements\n<ul>\n<li>Signal Word<\/li>\n<li>Pictogram(s)<\/li>\n<li>Hazard Statement(s)\n<ul>\n<li>Example:\u00a0Flammable liquid and vapor.<\/li>\n<li>Example:\u00a0Causes severe skin burns and eye damage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Precautionary Statement(s)\n<ul>\n<li>Example:\u00a0Keep away from heat\/sparks\/open flames\/hot surfaces &#8211; No smoking.<\/li>\n<li>Example:\u00a0Wear protective gloves\/ protective clothing\/ eye protection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Description of any Hazards Not Otherwise Classified (e.g., Lachrymator)<\/li>\n<li>For a mixture that contains an ingredient(s) with unknown toxicity, a statement describing how much (percentage) of the mixture consists of ingredient(s) with unknown acute toxicity. \u00a0Please note that this is a total percentage of the mixture and not tied to the individual ingredient(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step Two:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Look at Section 7 (Handling &amp; Storage) and Section 8 (Exposure Controls &amp; PPE) of your\u00a0Safety Data Sheet (SDS).<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Read these Sections carefully and thoroughly.<\/li>\n<li>Do not use or handle the chemical if you do not understand Sections 7 and 8.<\/li>\n<li>Knowing\u00a0how a substance must be handled and stored, and also knowing the proper PPE and Exposure Limits, will provide with\u00a0a good understanding of how hazardous a substance is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Step One: Look at Section 2 of your\u00a0Safety Data Sheet (SDS).\u00a0 Section 2 identifies the hazards of the chemical and the appropriate warning information associated with those hazards.
