Hill and David C. Finster in their textbook\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1WvCekQiKCZffPOxQYxAYVJ1OydMX2HkU\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Laboratory Safety for Chemistry Students<\/a>. The authors present RAMP as a mnemonic, enabling practitioners, educators, and students to remember four key principles of safety, and the main learning objectives of each principle. Since early 2017 these principles have been highlighted on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/chemical-safety.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">safety website<\/a> of the American Chemical Society, and are reproduced below. All St. Olaf laboratory workers, including students taking laboratory courses, should strive to follow these four key safety principles and the associated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.acs.org\/content\/acs\/en\/chemical-safety\/guidelines-for-chemical-laboratory-safety\/learning-objectives-for-college-students.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lab
