Preference is given to students pursuing a declared major in Classics, Greek, Latin, Ancient Studies, or Medieval Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Winners of Groomis Scholarship in Classics, 2025-<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2026: Emerson K.C. Kuckkan &#8217;26<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note: As of January, 2025, the Groomis Scholarship in Classics (jointly supported by the Groton and Loomis [= Groomis] endowments) has replaced the Loomis Scholarship in Classics and the Randall-Wilkes Scholarship in Classics. See records below<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Loomis Scholarship in Classics, 2012-2023<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The Loomis Scholarship in Classics, generously funded by Kenneth and Kathleen Loomis, parents of Stephen Loomis &#8217;97 (Latin and Mathematics major), was awarded every January between 2012 and 2023. It covered the full program fee and was intended for a student with high financial need and a record of academic excellence, who could not otherwise afford the cost of a <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/classics\/study-abroad-opportunities\/\">Classics study abroad course<\/a>, either&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/classics\/classics-251-description-2\/\">Classics 251&nbsp;(Classical Studies in Greece)<\/a> or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/classics\/classics-253-description\/\">Classics 253&nbsp;(Classical Studies in Italy)<\/a>. Randall &#8217;96 (Latin and English major) and Toni Wilkes, was awarded every January between 2020 and 2024.
