Groomis Scholarship in Classics<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Groomis Scholarship in Classics, when combined with a Smith Center Scholarship, covers the full program fee and is intended for a student with high financial need and a record of academic excellence, who could not otherwise afford the cost of a Classics study abroad course<\/a>, either Classics 251 (Classical Studies in Greece)<\/a> or Classics 253 (Classical Studies in Italy)<\/a>. Preference is given to students pursuing a declared major in Classics, Greek, Latin, Ancient Studies, or Medieval Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loomis Scholarship in Classics, 2012-2023<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Loomis Scholarship in Classics, generously funded by Kenneth and Kathleen Loomis, parents of Stephen Loomis ’97 (Latin and Mathematics major), was awarded every January between 2012 and 2023. It covered the full program fee and was intended for a student with high financial need and a record of academic excellence, who could not otherwise afford the cost of a Classics study abroad course<\/a>, either Classics 251 (Classical Studies in Greece)<\/a> or Classics 253 (Classical Studies in Italy)<\/a>. Preference was given to students pursuing a declared major in Classics, Greek, Latin, Ancient Studies, or Medieval Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Randall-Wilkes Scholarship in Classics, generously funded by Gregory W. Randall ’96 (Latin and English major) and Toni Wilkes, was awarded every January between 2020 and 2024. It covered the full program fee and was intended for a student with high financial need and a record of academic excellence, who could not otherwise afford the cost of a Classics abroad program<\/a>, either Classics 251 (Classical Studies in Greece)<\/a> or Classics 253 (Classical Studies in Italy)<\/a>.
