It covers more than 1000 years of civilization, beginning with the Etruscans and ending with the fall of the Western Roman Empire. The itinerary includes extended stays in Rome and on the Bay of Naples. When not visiting museums and archaeological sites, students have the opportunity to experience modern Italian culture as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>GE Requirements: GHS, CRE<br \/>\nCounts toward Classics, Greek, Latin, and Ancient Studies majors.<br \/>\nOpen to sophomores, juniors, and seniors.<\/p>\n<p>Offered in alternate years during January term, most recently in 2024. Will next be offered in 2026 by Professor Kyle Helms. Applications are no longer being accepted.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE: The Classics Department offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/classics\/groomis-scholarship-in-classics\/\">Groomis Scholarship<\/a> for students who apply to Classics 253.
