Student Support and Services

The Center for Multicultural and International Engagement provides various forms of support and services for students:

  • Coordination and advising of multicultural and international celebrations.
  • Leadership training and support for multicultural and international student organizations.
  • CMIE Lounge: CMIE provides a great space where students and student organizations gather everyday to socialize, work on projects or study.
  • Cultural Programming: CMIE coordinates, advise and sponsors events and programs with topics related to multicultural and international engagement such as Cultural Conversations, Program Assistants Events, Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration, Lectures, Coffee Hour, and Internationals Students Events.
  • Coordination of Week Zero to welcome first-year international students to St. Olaf.
  • Liaison between students, faculty, administration, local communities and alumni.
  • Academic, financial, and career opportunities advising.
  • CMIE opening reception: each Fall CMIE sponsors a reception to welcome new and returning multicultural and international students.
  • Career and Graduate Opportunity Information: CMIE provides notifications on informational sessions and events to explore career and graduate opportunities.
  • Co- curricular education: CMIE organizes activities trips to attend conferences, theater shows and events related to multicultural and international engagement.
  • Administration of the Diversity Awareness House residents selection process.
