Summer Chess Camp Fees and Registration Information

Chess Camp Fees
All class fees include double-occupancy lodging, meals (Sunday dinner – Friday lunch), instructional sessions, all special activities and a camp shirt. Campers are assigned to classes based on several factors primarily including the camper’s registered section, age, rating/chess strength. The camp will provide a variety of primary instructors from year to year. Class assignment decisions rest with the camp staff.
Chess Exploration: $665
For players of all ages and strengths. Campers 9 years of age or younger must be accompanied by an adult escort.
Intensive Study: $795
Advanced Youth: For players 17 and under, and rated at least 1500.
Advanced Adult: For players 18 and over OR 1700.
Fundamental Adults: For novice to moderate strength adults 18 and over.
Intensive Study – Master Class: $995
For series players (including mature-acting youth) rated over 2000. Includes the evening lecture series, instruction by GM’s only, electronic ChessBase format class materials, and the tournament section will be limited to the strongest players only (allowances for camp size).
Late Fees: $50-100
For registrations received and/or postmarked after June 1, a fee of $50 is added to the registration. For registrations received and/or postmarked after July 1, a fee of $100 is added to the registration.
Adult Escort Fee: $250
An adult must accompany campers under 9 years of age. The escort fee includes meals and housing (double occupancy with their camper) and bowling night.
Single Room Option: $70
A limited number of single-occupancy rooms are available.
You must 19 years or older to request a single room.
Commuter Discount: -$50
Campers commuting to and from camp daily may deduct $50 from resident fees listed above. Commuters tuition includes lunch and dinner, instructional sessions, special activities, and a camp shirt.
Airport Shuttle Service
St. Olaf College is located in historic Northfield, Minnesota, about 40 miles south of the Twin Cities. Campers needing shuttle service to and from campus please email email@example.com for local transportation options.
Written cancellation received by June 1 will receive a refund less the $100 non-refundable deposit. No refunds will be made after July 1.
