To St. Olaf College faculty and staffFrom Enoch Blazis, Campus Reopening Lead | Vice President – Advancement
In my capacity as the Campus Reopening Lead on the President’s Leadership Team, I draw your attention to the web page outlining our Phased Approach for Returning to Campus.
Many people are busy preparing the campus. During the month of July we will start to see more faculty and staff return to campus to make final preparations as we move through Phase 2 of our reopening plan.
In order to have a safe and orderly return to campus work for our August 20 fall semester start date, St. Olaf College intends to have a gradual repopulating of the campus. Some important highlights include:
- Employees who have identified High Risk Factors will be appropriately accommodated on a case-by-case basis.
- Supervisors will notify and confirm with employees what group they are in and clarify when they are required to be on campus.
- Employees will be required to acknowledge the community pledge, complete online health and safety training and participate in baseline testing in early August prior to classes beginning. Students will be required to do the same.
- Staff who can work remotely should continue to do so, including employees of Advancement, Enrollment and College Relations, Finance, IT, and other areas that can accomplish tasks from remote locations.
Because there are many aspects of the plan that affect everyone in the College community, I will produce a regular update every two weeks or as needed to give everyone a sense of the latest. These updates will be shared on the website and through Ole Insider and Ole Notes. On a day-to-day basis, I would direct you to the Campus Reopening page. We will continue to update our progress on our plan and other pertinent information there.
I thank everyone who has been working diligently on making this plan happen, and I appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as our plans continue to evolve.
