Presenter: Anton Armstrong; Facilitator: Deanna Thompson

A nationally-renowned choral musician who’s passionate about the future of the church, Anton Armstrong will reflect on the power of music as a vibrant means of grace to address some of the daunting challenges facing worship leaders and their faith communities grappling with the issues of equity and inclusion. 

4:40pm CST | “I’ve been meaning to ask…” – Fostering Curiosity, Courage, and Connection

Presenters: A Sanctified Art

All courageous conversations begin with simple questions and the curiosity to truly listen. In this session, the team from A Sanctified Art will use resources from their newest worship series to engage our holy imaginations as we work to disrupt assumptions, cultivate curiosity, practice listening, and find deeper connections within our communities.

7:00pm CST | Radical Joy! Finding Your Freedom Practice and Deepening Healing

Presenter: Joe Davis

What does it mean to cultivate a deep-rooted joy in unstable times? How can we stay grounded, centered, and connected to a sense of joy and hope while navigating the unpredictability of a global pandemic, racial injustice, and socioeconomic inequities? Nationally-touring artists, speaker, and educator, Joe Davis, will invite participants to respond to big questions and find their “freedom practice.” Employing music, poetry, story-telling, and research-based frameworks, he will offer practices that can help us all create more space for mental health and spiritual well-being.

7:30pm CST | “To Repair”: A Conversation with Tesfa Wondemagegnehu and Antron McKay-West 

Presenter: Tesfa Wondemagegnehu and Antron McKay-West

This summer Tesfa Wondemagegnehu is traveling across the United States collecting narratives from activists and community leaders about repairing and reparations as part of his “To Repair” project (recently featured in Forbes). Tesfa will be leading this session live from Tulsa, Oklahoma along with Antron McKay-West, a serial entrepreneur with a passion for uplifting his community, who will be joining us from Jackson, Mississippi.
