{"id":68,"date":"2025-07-02T15:00:15","date_gmt":"2025-07-02T20:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/dac\/?page_id=68"},"modified":"2025-07-02T15:00:16","modified_gmt":"2025-07-02T20:00:16","slug":"accommodation-letters","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/dac\/accommodation-letters\/","title":{"rendered":"Accommodation Letters"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are Accommodation Letters?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Accommodation Letters are formal documents written to each faculty member from the Access Specialist, listing your approved accommodations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How will I get my Accommodation Letters?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prior to the beginning of each semester, &nbsp;log into your myDAC account, and select which instructors to whom you would like your accommodation letter sent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your letters will be <strong>e-mailed<\/strong> directly to your professors from your Access Specialist. &nbsp;You will also receive a copy of this e-mail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accommodations are renewed annually after a required Annual Review with your Access Specialist. Updated documentation might be needed at that meeting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do I need to do after my Accommodation Letter is sent?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When your Access Specialist emails your letter to your professors, you will receive a copy.&nbsp; Keep the letter somewhere safe for your records.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As soon as your Accommodation Letter is received, you are expected to <strong>contact each professor individually to discuss the accommodations<\/strong>.&nbsp; Confirm that each professor received the letter, and talk about how the specific accommodations (such as extended time on tests) will be arranged in each class.&nbsp; You are not obligated to share any details of your disability during these conversations.&nbsp; Make this contact right away to ensure that you and the professors will have enough time to make any necessary arrangements for upcoming exams, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact your Access Specialist right away if you have any questions, concerns, or problems with your accommodations in any of your classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What are Accommodation Letters?
