Fresh Space is a returning annual concert displaying the works of St. Olaf students, student organizations, staff and faculty, as well as groups from the greater Northfield area and Carleton College! It\u2019s an open show intended to bring area dancers and creators together to share a performance in The Wagner Bundgaard Studio on the St. Olaf Campus.<\/span>

FIRST YEAR DANCE PROJECT INFORMAL SHARING
November 12 from 5:00 – 6:00pm in<\/strong> CAD Wagner Bundgaard Studio 1<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come join us for an informal sharing of several dance works that have been created and restaged on the First Year Dance Project. Come see what we have created and hear more about our process and the community created in FYDP. 

About First Year Dance Project (FYDP)<\/em>
First Year Dance Project (FYDP) is part of the Dance Companies (Companydance and Veselica), which provides dance performance and creative opportunities for St. Olaf College students. FYDP enables students new to the College and\/or new to the Dance Companies to get to know one another and build a community in a movement setting. During the span of one semester, FYDP dancers and the Dance Department faculty and staff become acquainted with one another by working together on the creation of new dance work, the restaging of existing dance works, and the teaching of master classes in various dance styles and genres. A range of movement and creative aesthetics, styles and philosophies are explored during this process, which results in an end of the semester sharing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

SENIOR DANCE CONCERT 2025 – In Our Nature
November 20, 21 at 7:00pm and Nov. 22 at 2pm and 7:00pm <\/strong>in CAD Wagner Bundgaard Studio 1.
Senior dance majors present their senior dance capstone projects. Come join us for the 2025 Senior Dance Concert featuring the senior dance capstone projects of Senior Dance Majors Alice Boerner, Jade Burbank, Ariel Edwards, Hailey Frank, Nina Hodder, Joy Meyers, Janet Munoz Enriquez, Emily Sanchez, Leo Sanchez, Emma Smith, Sophie Smith, Kathryn Sprandel, Mary Staplin, and Liya Wetzler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please review the available reservations for the Senior Concert at this link <\/a>and click on the Sign Up button to reserve a seat. You can reserve up to 4 seats per name. By reserving a seat(s) you are guaranteed a seat. Walk up seating isn’t guaranteed and will most likely be on the floor. There is an overflow space to watch the concert via live stream in CAD 305 with seats. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Friday’s performance there will be a reception in the main hallway of the Center for Art and Dance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ST. OLAF CHAMBER SINGERS CONCERT – The last work, Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” is a collaboration with the St. Olaf Dance Department featuring dancers Alannah Brooks, Nina Hodder, Anna Jacobsen, ZeVon Johnson, and Mary Staplin and choreography by Dance Department Chair Heather Klopchin and dancers.
November 23 at 3:30-5:30 in Boe Chapel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chamber Singers, conducted by Associate Professor of Practice and Robert Scholz Endowed Chair in Music Therees Tkach Hibbard, will present their fall concert in Boe Chapel. This event is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ECOTONES: 2026 STUDIO THEATER DANCE CONCERT
March 5, 6, at 7:30 pm and March 7 at 2pm in the Center for Art and Dance (CAD) Wagner Bundgaard Studio 1<\/strong> on the campus of St. Olaf College.
Join us for Ecotones<\/strong>, an evening of movement exploring the “borderlands” between genres. Borrowing from the ecological term for zones of integration, this concert brings together St. Olaf\u2019s two distinct ensembles\u2014Companydance <\/strong>and Veselica International Dance Ensemble<\/strong>\u2014to celebrate the beauty of overlap and the emergence of new forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featuring physically compelling, visually captivating, aurally stirring, and thought-provoking choreography and creative research by dance faculty members, guest artists, and current St. Olaf students in the 2 Dance Department companies Companydance and Veselica. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Tickets for the general public cost $10.00. St. Olaf College faculty, staff, and retirees receive two free tickets per production. St. Olaf students receive one free ticket per production with a valid student ID number. Tickets go on sale April 17. Please use the links below for ticket purchases.
