In the St. Olaf Dance Community, as is done in the professional dance world, we must help and support each other as we create and present dance.\u00a0 During all Dance Department performances, special events, and workshops throughout the year the department requires help and support.\u00a0 We need <\/span>your<\/span><\/i> help!\u00a0 Without your help we would be unable to provide our dance events and their quality would be drastically reduced.\u00a0 Dance Majors<\/strong> and all members of the Dance Companies<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0are required to fulfill these obligations.\u00a0 Together, as a community, let\u2019s create some art!<\/span><\/p>\n

Service Hour Requirements:<\/b><\/p>\n

Miscellaneous Service Hours<\/b>: 6 hours per year<\/span><\/p>\n

or<\/span><\/p>\n

Large Show Production<\/b>: Fulfills obligation for that year and the next- 2 years of hours!- and is a great way to get to know other dancers while learning the offstage aspects of a dance production.\u00a0 Large Show productions are just that and typically will require your attendance nightly during the week of the production.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

***All Dance Majors<\/b> are required to work a Large Show Production at least once during their academic career. <\/span>First Year Dance Project (FYDP)<\/b> members are <\/span>strongly <\/b>encouraged to work a <\/span>Large Show Production <\/span>their first year especially if you are at all considering the Dance Major.***<\/span><\/p>\n

But what is a service hour?<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A service hour is a block of your time committed to help assist with the the Dance Department\u2019s various needs including but not limited to the following:<\/span><\/p>\n
