{"id":394,"date":"2016-03-29T11:22:07","date_gmt":"2016-03-29T16:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/dh\/?page_id=394"},"modified":"2023-06-07T08:16:18","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T13:16:18","slug":"mosfilm-archive-project","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/dh\/mosfilm-archive-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Mosfilm Archive Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection><p>[SlideDeck2 id=390]<\/p>\n<h2><br class=\"none\" \/>Project Description<\/h2>\n<p>Professors Kuxhausen and Robinson were given access to the <em>Mosfilm<\/em> archives to research and acquire primary source materials for a proposed online exhibition of Russian film. <em>Mosfilm<\/em> is the largest film production company in Russia, and has played a key role in the history of Russian film. Its output included many of the most widely-acclaimed Soviet era films.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1318 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/dh\/files\/2018\/02\/Mosfilm_logo_old-300x229.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" \/>Both Anna and Marc traveled separately to Moscow in the summer of 2014 to pursue this research. Because of realities on the ground\u2013bureaucratic challenges, availability of key archivists, and an emerging picture of what materials might actually be accessible\u2013the scope and focus of the project evolved. Ultimately they chose to focus on production materials related to <em>The Courier<\/em> (\u041a\u0423\u0420\u042c\u0415\u0420) and <em>Ivan the Terrible\u00a0<\/em>(\u0418\u0412\u0410\u041d \u0413\u0420\u041e\u0417\u041d\u042b\u0419).
