In this role, she will develop and lead multicultural recruitment and enrollment strategy for the college, as well as serve as the primary contact for the Posse Foundation and Posse student selection in Chicago.
Prior to joining the Admissions team at St. Olaf, Sterling-Halama served as the Director of Alumni Career Services at Columbia University, where she provided leadership and direction for alumni engagement and professional development programming. She also formerly worked at New York University, where she led strategic employer outreach and recruiting initiatives for engineering students and alumni. Part of her work included leading innovative workshops with a focus on professional branding and connecting one’s culture and identity to his/her career decision-making process.
“In addition to embracing the Ole community spirit and working with the dynamic team in the Admissions Office, I’m really excited to work with students and their families,” she says. “I also look forward to building strong community partnerships on and off campus.”
Sterling-Halama holds a master’s degree in human services and counseling from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in education from the University of Florida.
