Brett DeFries – Visiting Assistant Professor, English<\/h2>\n\n

In my Fall 2020 English 220 (Body, Mind, Soul) course, I collaborated with Jillian Sparks on a Letter-Locking project within our unit on John Donne\u2019s letter-writing (and locking) practice. Students composed letters to friends and then transcribed them with quills and ink that Jillian made herself. After completing their letters, they locked them following the model of Youtube videos that recreate several of John Donne\u2019s letter-locking methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
