For help finding datasets that are not available on the links listed, check with an economics professor or Research &amp; Instruction\/Data Services Librarian <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stolaf.edu\/library\/instruction\/liaisons\/liaison_details.cfm?ID=AAA3EA77-CAA7-EECD-2AC87EC3F6BF228C\">Ann Schaenzer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>The Federal Reserve<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/\">Federal Reserve Board of Governors<\/a> &#8211; This is the source for Fed statistical releases, Open Market Committee news, the Beige Book and more.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/otherfrb.htm\">Regional Federal Reserve Banks<\/a> &#8211; Some of the best sites are maintained by our <a href=\"http:\/\/www.minneapolisfed.org\/\">local Fed (Minneapolis)<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newyorkfed.org\/\">New York<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bos.frb.org\/\">Boston<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stlouisfed.org\/\">St. Louis<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagofed.org\/\">Chicago<\/a>. These sites will also provide links to other regional Feds.<\/p>\n<h4>Federal Departments, Bureaus, Commissions, etc.<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bls.gov\">The Bureau of Labor Statistics<\/a> \u2013 for information on inflation, unemployment, earnings, and productivity.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bea.gov\">The Bureau of Economic Analysis<\/a> \u2013 for information on national income, GDP, international and regional economic accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Other data and reports can be found directly at sites maintained by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commerce.gov\/\">Department of Commerce<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usdoj.gov\/\">Department of Justice \u2013 Antitrust Division<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dol.gov\/\">Department of Labor<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ustreas.gov\/\">Department of the Treasury<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.census.gov\/\">Bureau of the Census<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ftc.gov\/\">Federal Trade Commission<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sec.gov\/\">Securities and Exchange Commission<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/cea\/\">Council of Economic Advisors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Legislative Data<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/thomas.loc.gov\/\">U.S. Congress \u2013 Thomas<\/a> &#8211; This site stores information on Congress, the Congressional Record (searchable), and a host of other legislative links are available.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.mn.us\/\">Minnesota State Legislature<\/a> &#8211; The state legislature maintains its own site with information on the House and Senate, Minnesota statutes, and links to other legislative sites.<\/p>\n<h4>Policy Institutes<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brookings.org\/\">The Brookings Institution<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/epinet.org\/\">The Economic Policy Institute<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nrdc.org\/\">NRDC<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cato.org\/home.html\">The Cato Institute<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.aei.org\/\">American Enterprise Institute<\/a> and others produce both data and reports on relevant economic and political issues.<\/p>\n<p><!-- begin-migrated-from-panel-builder --><!-- end-migrated-from-panel-builder --><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are a number of publicly available sources of market and related data online.
