St. Olaf College has adopted an \u201cAll Hazards\u201d approach to emergency response and recovery. When warranted by the severity of the incident, the College will utilize the Incident Command System (ICS) outlined in the National Incident Management System (NIMS), as directed by Homeland Security Presidential Directive #5, to respond to emergencies and on-campus critical incidents.<\/p>\n

\nThe emergency management committee is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the college\u2019s preparedness, response, and recovery efforts for emergencies and disasters. Goals & Objectives<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Identify & Reduce Risk <\/strong>-Assess hazards and vulnerabilities, and recommend practical mitigation measures before incidents occur<\/p>\n

Maintain Effective Plans & Procedures <\/strong>– Clearly define roles, communication, and response actions for emergencies<\/p>\n

Ensure Readiness <\/strong>– Coordinate training and exercises so personnel are ready to act<\/p>\n

Coordinated Response & Recovery <\/strong>– Efforts are coordinated during and after incidents to limit disruption and restore normal operations as quickly as possible<\/p>\n
