Why hire Oles?
St. Olaf students major in 40 different disciplines and subject areas, including 17 teaching certifications, 23 concentrations, and 12 pre-professional fields in the natural and mathematical sciences, fine arts, social sciences, and humanities.
Our students also develop leadership and teamwork skills through their involvement in more than 230 student organizations, 25 varsity teams, 10 choirs, bands and orchestras, and various other groups and projects on- and off-campus.
Furthermore, this spirit is fostered within our diverse and tight-knit residential community with a global perspective. Our 3000 students come from 50 states and 80 countries, and more than two-thirds participate in at least one of the 110 off-campus and study abroad programs offered by St. Olaf.
St. Olaf’s vibrant Lutheran tradition encourages students to channel and challenge their scholarship and faith, both inside the classroom and outside in the world of work. Oles are compelled to stay curious, engage with one another, ask compelling questions, and push boundaries in order to develop perspectives and honor different traditions.
