{"id":243,"date":"2013-12-10T14:20:20","date_gmt":"2013-12-10T20:20:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/facultyhandbook\/?page_id=243"},"modified":"2025-09-08T10:42:16","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T15:42:16","slug":"payment-of-wages","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/facultyhandbook\/payment-of-wages\/","title":{"rendered":"Payment of Wages"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection><p><i>[Faculty Handbook Category #3]<\/i><\/p>\n<p>Faculty are\u00a0paid monthly.\u00a0\u00a0Payments are made on the last business day of each month.<\/p>\n<p>Each member of the faculty receives a monthly earnings statement indicating gross earnings, deductions, reductions, and net pay.\u00a0\u00a0The statement also shows accumulated taxable earnings, withholding tax, and social security deductions from January 1 to the date of the statement.<\/p>\n<p>Before an earnings statement can be issued, an employee must complete the following forms:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>W-4 Federal Employee&#8217;s Withholding Allowance Certificate and State of Minnesota W-4 withholding. If either is not completed, the default will be single status with zero dependents.<\/li>\n<li>An Election of Benefits Form.\u00a0\u00a0This form is used by the employee to designate his\/her election of benefits for which he\/she is eligible (see Faculty Benefits).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Employees are encouraged to complete their Payment Method within Oracle to arrange for direct deposit of their paycheck into a personal bank account.<\/p>\n<p>The college does not advance payment of salaries except in unusual circumstances.\u00a0\u00a0Any advance payment must have prior approval of the CFO and Vice President for Business and Finance.<\/p>\n<p><em>updated 9.8.2025<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Faculty Handbook Category #3] Faculty are\u00a0paid monthly.\u00a0\u00a0Payments are made on the last business day of each month.
