{"id":95,"date":"2013-12-05T14:47:29","date_gmt":"2013-12-05T20:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/facultyhandbook\/?page_id=95"},"modified":"2023-06-07T08:19:03","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T13:19:03","slug":"examinations","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wp.stolaf.edu\/facultyhandbook\/examinations\/","title":{"rendered":"Examinations"},"content":{"rendered":"<div data-modular-content-collection><p><i>[Faculty Handbook Category #2]<\/i><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>All examinations and tests are conducted under the Honor System.\u00a0\u00a0If tests are duplicated, the Honor Pledge must be printed in full on the answer sheet.<\/li>\n<li>As a matter of general practice, the teacher should give students one week&#8217;s advance notice for full-period examinations.<\/li>\n<li>An in-class examination shall be designed to fit within the length of the class period for which it is scheduled.\u00a0\u00a0Students are not to commence work on an in-class examination prior to the beginning of the class period, nor to continue working on it beyond the end of the class period. Alternative arrangements for an in-class examination may be made for individual students (such as those with documented disabilities) who need special accommodation.<\/li>\n<li>Any examination given outside of the scheduled class period is considered an out-of-class examination.\u00a0\u00a0Faculty must allow a minimum of 24 hours within which students may complete an out-of-class exam, even if the exam is timed (e.g. students are to work on the exam for a maximum of 2 hours).<\/li>\n<li>Faculty must take extraordinary care to ensure that some students are not given advantages over others during an examination period.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/catalog.stolaf.edu\/academic-regulations-procedures\/final-examinations\/\">Final Examinations<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!-- begin-migrated-from-panel-builder --><!-- end-migrated-from-panel-builder --><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Faculty Handbook Category #2] All examinations and tests are conducted under the Honor System.\u00a0\u00a0If tests are duplicated, the Honor Pledge must be printed in full on the answer sheet.
